My apologies, I said this would be sent earlier, but life took over once more and I faltered.
Have I taken on too much and got a little lost like my Aussie Camino has itself. The first few days was shuffled like a pack of cards. I had no idea whether I begin with the joker and joke around a little or not, after all what hurt could that do? Or do I just play it as it goes – historical. There was confusion about which way to go, no signs or symbols or at least not what I understood. And what if I had put the seals first when they were just flapping then slipping out of sight just now. And why we are doing the first track second, how would I answer this clearly. Then there are the prehistoric tales, the mighty whales, a fellow poet but published already.
Then a filthy room took my attention and I needed to clean it. I know Corry had negotiated a good deal but wasn’t happy, and I was looking but not seeing an ok view.
However before all that, I complained that the flat was too dirty but could I have a vacuum cleaner?
The dust and bigger pollutants had already reached the area of judgement. I knocked on the door. They braced at the door so I guess they knew what the topic was.
She watched me as I cleared her tiny lovable insects off the cenotaph. Our host was distraught as he had removed his rooms from Booking.com, with renovations due to start tomorrow.
Then I could just tell it as it is, as it comes. Here goes. We didn’t just get a room, they gave us a house! But …. the washing was too much as I didn’t have the time or water. So I went to wash them in the shower, but no water there, after I had soaped already. So I found a cloth and washed the ‘bits’ only.
Oh to be a seal, we delighted in the company of seals, on their very own platform, slipping and sliding on their perfect rock and not bothered by us at all. We learnt from a hiker that seals only mate with their own tribe. This was important because two tribes shared this very large home.
I felt a part of nature for a short while while the maybe poor sighted roo who I had just met lent against my leg like dogs do and the porcupine headed towards me. I wished I was as blind as a porcupine seemed to be and headed for the open.
By the way I’m not complaining, just a story that you might or not…enjoy…
We’ve met and talked to a few people and that is what we find… a few. Read a few words about Mary Mackillop, the woman who the path is dedicated to, sounds very interesting.
I’ll be back in a few days and we’re over half way 141 hours in 8 days at an average of 18 hours daily. We wanted a cushion and we’ve got that.
Talk soon
Will
