Sorry I’ve been late in sending the posts. I hope to send daily from now on, wifi willing.
A long steep walk up to the castle produced a rare hill climb that took my back pain away. In the afternoon a walk through two villages between a river and the railway line completed our walking day. One of my favourite things that also make me a little more connected to my new home is to provide info to locals. As we walked up to our front door there were two youngish men trying to ring the owners. I knew the other hotel where the owners lived and took them there. The owner was the woman above and maybe she has a connection to them as well. By the way, our home was world heritage listed but the price wasn’t.
We’re off today to Naumburg but we had an hour to fill in before that fabulous little train arrives to take us to our next walking spot. So we went walking along this mercedes wide road and on both sides were aldi truck wide strips of land, one or two shacks, vege patches, gnomes and other paraphernalia. Normally it would seem these would be house blocks.
Next we were in a bus and at about 1.00 30 kids hopped on. I thought they may be operating like they do in France where they go home for lunch then back to school. Not so in much of Germany – they go home at 1.00 and stay home – ‘whoopie’, or do fun things at school until their parents return from work.
Great to hear you’re on your way. Sending big hugs for a lovely walk through Germany, lots of love x
“An occupied mind can save a multitude of ‘brain cells’ . Will, your discriptive excellence is so clever. Thanks for allowing us to follow your travels with you so beautifully. Take care my friends and keep enjoying, and sharing with us.
Hi Will and Coralie,
Great to see your blog at last!…. it had to be the wifi
hope you’re both faring well.
I won’t even try to express anything in any other language but English; otherwise it’d be criminal.
Pardon my ignorance but I had to Google Pergamon, now I understand – it seems vast.
Wonderful to hear you are both off and walking, Will and Coralie… Love hearing your enjoyment of life, Will… being a step in the chain of bringing people together, climbing the hill, walking beside a river… Buen Camino!
Have a great time and enjoy the freedom. Inspirational!
Tony
You’re too kind Tony, thanks for being in touch. By the way we went to the Pergamon – amazing.

Geraldine and Donald
Hallo Geraldine, hallo Donald (Doonalt),
I’m very sorry you two but your names are the same. At least you get a different pronunciation Donald.
So far they mostly say ‘morgen’ but I’ve been saying ‘hello’ and I can tell whether they speak english or not by their pronunciation of ‘hello’ back to me – my bit of trivia for today.
Talk tonight
Enjoy the journey and look forward to your posts.
Good to hear from you Rob
A hug to you both
