A short walk to the ferry today so a chance to gaze out at the rows of similar English cottages from our comfortable bed. So comfortable I forgot to take a photo from our second roof top tower, worth every step to get there.
Leaving Bleriots crash site – I have a photo, mind back on the job, it was a 3 kilometre walk to the ferry station. We simply bought a ticket, showed our passport, waited for a bus which took us to the next ferry, half an hour until departure. Much bigger than the Sydney ferries but much less crowded and very comfortable in the very personalised cushioned chairs and tables – too relaxed, no photos again.
In Calais in 90 minutes and another 3 kilometre walk into town. The tourist office rang around for us and we soon found accommodation on the side of a large canal. We now begin the French section and recognising more French words and phrases so a chance to put some of our classes to use
