No rain, no pain, we’re ready to go. I’ve reconnoitred our route out tomorrow so we’re not fooled by the dark – I’ve seen. We’ve had Patrick – “I’m not Irish” find our first bed for us – we’ve talked. We’ve sat in the Cathedral and received good wishes for the walk – we’ve listened. I was asked to do a reading in the Cathedral but the church cat can speak better French than me – but I was touched. We’ve organised our lodgings for tomorrow 25kms away in Saint-Privat-d’Allier, a room for 4 – we’re booked. We have told our case that a nice man will collect it and take it to the 4 bed place – it’s booked. We’ve tried the French Croissants, much better than Spanish ones – we’ve tasted. At 6.00 tomorrow Corrie and I will begin our French walk on behalf of those living with Parkinson’s; in memory of a school friend we were visiting (who died last week in Tours, France); and in our thoughts will be his wife and family. See you on Day 1 tomorrow
Good luck with the start of the walk. The croissants look absolutely yummy – and your photos are gorgeous! What a lovely place. We’re thinking of you both and send you lots of love xxx
What a beautiful little town or maybe big town. That breakfast looks amazing and full of energy for the big walk ahead, delicious. good luck xx
I think you will find the breakfasts a little nicer in France :). Those croissants look absolutely delicious. How is the weather for you for Day 1? We are sending you best wishes for a wonderful start on this great journey!
