We left this morning in a new direction a part of the old city away from the central very busy part and discovered a quieter part of Madrid and while it’s not the Prado, there were some lovely paintings on tiles so thought we’d post some that may be of interest.
It’s below 20, a slight cool breeze, perfect for walking. Each day we head off about 9 for breakfast and then a long slow walk, I come back to the hotel for siesta, i.e. doing things I love to do, Corrie has her siesta doing what she loves to do on the streets of Madrid and then back here for lunch at around 3 when it starts to get hot, then we stay in till 6 when it has passed the high twenties, then Prado or Jardines, dinner or snacks at different venues around 9-10 then back to read or write till 11.30
Last day in Europe, sad to leave but excited to come back, for me, after 3 months it’s like we’re going on holiday to Australia, friends to catch up with and lots to do.
Lovely photos. Many brought back memories of a recent trip I made with my father to Madrid.
